Blossoming ‘outdoor room’ garden in Ealing (W5)

The brief was to design a flowering garden with a seating area nestled among the borders, with a sense of privacy. Our clients also wanted a reasonable sized lawn and a natural but well-maintained look for the planting It was also important that the new garden felt in keeping with the architecture and materials of the mid Victorian house.

For the new patio areas, we used reclaimed Yorkstone edged with clay pavers. To ensure the garden felt secluded, we laid painted trellis on top of the garden walls. Planting included a range of climbers around the boundary, plus roses, hydrangeas, grasses and herbaceous perennials.
